2010 Local Food Guide - Cuyahoga County

The Health and Nutrition Working Group of the FPC developed the 2010 Local Food Guide for Cuyahoga County.  The 2010 Local Food Guide contains information on nutrition, food preservation, eating seasonally, and urban agriculture and locations of farmers' markets and urban farms throughout the county.

Vacant Land Inventory for Urban Agriculture - Report for Urban Land Ecology Conference

Members of the Land Use & Planning Working Group presented this report at the 2009 Urban Land Ecology Conference. Using a combination of criteria developed by planners, crop scientists, researchers, GIS practitioners, and OSU Extension, this inventory will help achieve three goals:

  1. Identify strategic parcels land for urban agriculture in Cleveland
  2. Support farmland preservation efforts in the suburban communities in Cuyahoga County
  3. Inform land use decisions for the Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Land Banks when new parcels are acquired

Ohio State University-Extension policy brief prepared by Stephanie Lung in early 2010 on the current use of EBT, WIC, and senior coupons at farmers markets in Cuyahoga County.  Includes identification of barriers to use as well as recommendations for increasing use.
